Our History
Douglas County Habitat for Humanity (DCHFH) was established in 1991 in Douglasville, Georgia, and is affiliated with Habitat for Humanity International. The majority of our DCHFH prayer partners, financial supporters and volunteer workers come from local churches, businesses and individuals-people just like you.
The first eight homes were built in the Gordon Heights subdivision on Young Court in Douglasville. House 6 and house 7 were sponsored by First Presbyterian Church of Douglasville and First United Methodist Church of Douglasville, respectively. House #8 was sponsored by the West Georgia Board of Realtors and was completed and dedicated in September of 1998. House #9 was sponsored by the Douglas County Home Builder's Association. House #10 was sponsored by Southern A&E, who also sponsored House #11 along with the Douglas County Home Builder's Association.
