PLANNING UNDERWAY FOR WOMEN BUILD HONORING ROBIN NASH

Quick Facts

•  Women Build is a Habitat for Humanity program that encourages women to have fun and learn construction skills. “ Women Build Honoring Robin Nash” is a tribute to the memory of Judge Robin Nash, a juvenile court judge, and his passionate work on behalf of our children and disabled citizens.

•  Like other Habitat homes, construction and neighborhood development are funded through tax-deductible financial contributions and in-kind donations from local businesses, churches, civic organizations, and individuals.

•  Women Build does not exclude men; the premise is including and training more women in the mission of Habitat for Humanity. Men participate in the construction, site supervision, and training. Fundraising and significant project coordination are directed by women.

•  In 2008, Douglas County Habitat and Cobb County Habitat will merge and form one of the country's premier Habitat for Humanity affiliates.

•  The Women Build Honoring Robin Nash home will be Douglas County Habitat's first “new design” home and the first built following the merger of Douglas County Habitat and Cobb County Habitat (and expansion into Paulding County ). Built with Craftsman-style details, the new home will represent the future of all Habitat homes planned for construction in Douglas County .

•  Building Neighborhoods That Work is a four-year initiative partnering business, church & civic groups with working families to build 100 Habitat for Humanity homes in Cobb, Douglas, and Paulding counties.

Like our other house sponsorships, women build participants/sponsors provide the majority of the volunteers for the build. To become a women build sponsor, contact Tavia Pauling or call 770-489-8883.
